Every year he would bring his family from England along with the staff who worked in the home. The workers would live on the 3rd floor of the estate and on the 2nd floor of the carriage house. The Baroness, needing much closet space for her many "large - silk"dresses, designed the home so that the large walk in closets were very close to one another. Her design of cabinets inside the closet was the rave of all of those who came to the new America. The oval dining room delighted many guest in the summer, but oh the holidays with all of the festivities was certainly the delight of the family. Lighted sconces - chestnuts roasting on the open fire places. The baroness' china would be proudly displayed in the 3 custom china lead crystal inlaid cabinets (in the oval of the room).
